In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the impact of a proprioceptive training program on the prevention of ankle injuries and the improvement of dynamic balance in professional players of the "Motilones del Norte" Basketball Club. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was developed, using a non-probability convenience sample of 12 athletes divided into an experimental group (n=7) and a control group (n=5). The intervention lasted 12 weeks, with three weekly sessions of specific proprioceptive exercises. The instruments applied were the Y-Balance Test (YBT) to measure dynamic balance and a risk factor survey to identify injury history. Statistical analysis was performed using the student t test for related samples, the Wilcoxon test, and the Mann-Whitney U test, depending on the data distribution. Among the most significant results, a significant improvement in the dominant foot reach was observed in the experimental group (Z=-2.226, p=0.026), a reduction in the functional asymmetry index (Z=-2.375, p=0.018), and a significant difference in the post-test between groups in the posteromedial direction (U=1.000, p=0.017). Additionally, a 42% decrease in the incidence of ankle injuries was reported among participants who completed the program.
Eduard Enrique López Pedraza, Fernando Cote Mogollón, Oscar Antonio Quintero Vagas, Andrés Aubin Portilla Flórez, Julio Manuel Maza, Jorge Ricardo Sanna Guerrero Copyright (c) 2025 Eduard Enrique López Pedraza,Fernando Cote Mogollón,Oscar Antonio Quintero Vagas,Andrés Aubin Portilla Flórez,Julio Manuel Maza,Jorge Ricardo Sanna Guerrero https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/687 Fri, 27 Jun 2025 12:03:44 +0000 Social reintegration as an educational form from the socio-psychological observatory in the State of Mexico https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/686
Education is a right and is therefore regulated in prison settings, hence its stimulating role and importance in the process of social reintegration. A total of 1 919 residents were surveyed and classified by employment status: 52.3 % salaried employees, 22.5 % self-employed, 19.3 % informal workers, and 5.9 % holding multiple jobs. Based on the literature, the critical variables were defined as income, debt, liquidity, payment capacity, and borrowing capacity. The descriptive analysis revealed an average income of USD 1 095.50—substantially above the official median wage (USD 452.50)—and a wage coverage of 59 % of the basic family basket. Mean debt stood at USD 320.60 (SD = 595.80), highlighting heterogeneity and pressure on purchasing power. Binary logistic regression confirmed the general hypothesis (H₀): the combined model (income, debt, liquidity, borrowing capacity, and credit approval) significantly explains the probability of housing purchase (χ²(model) = 243.1; p < .001; Nagelkerke R² = 0.18). Hypotheses H₁ and H₂ were validated, showing that each additional USD 100 in income increases the odds of acquisition by 15 % (Exp(B) = 1.15; p < .001), while each extra USD 100 of debt reduces them by 15 % (Exp(B) = 0.85; p < .001). Additionally, the chi-square test confirmed H₃: salaried employment is positively associated with purchase (χ²(819) = 2301.01; p < .001). These findings indicate that higher real incomes, lower indebtedness, and formal employment facilitate housing access. Accordingly, we recommend public policies that strengthen purchasing power, regulate consumer credit, and promote labor formalization to guarantee decent housing in Machala.
Jajaira Maribel Orellana Torres , Virgilio Salcedo Muñoz Copyright (c) 2025 Jajaira Maribel Orellana Torres ,Virgilio Salcedo Muñoz https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/710 Tue, 12 Aug 2025 00:43:09 +0000 Healthy schools and sports training: an analysis from the educational management perspective in the municipality of Ciénaga de Oro, Córdoba, Colombia https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/711
The research activity focused on healthy schools and sports training, in order to promote healthy school environments and foster the comprehensive well-being of students and the educational community. The findings are presented on the multidimensional nature of educational vulnerability as a complex phenomenon where interrelated structural, procedural, and contextual factors converge, transcending traditional unidisciplinary approaches. The methodology is based on the sociocritical paradigm with a descriptive-exploratory approach, employing a systematic documentary review of 4,720 scientific articles indexed in Scopus through progressive filtering until obtaining 251 relevant articles, using content analysis and bibliographic matrices for systematization. The main results show an upward trend in scientific production on educational vulnerability (2015-2025), with a predominance of developed countries, limited Latin American participation, and dominance of Social Sciences (42.9%). The conclusions establish that educational vulnerability constitutes a multidimensional phenomenon where socioeconomic, geographic, institutional, pedagogical, and cultural factors operate interdependently. Sociocritical, ecological, and human capabilities approaches are emerging as predominant theoretical frameworks; there is a significant gap between international academic output and the contextual realities of rural Colombia.
Kilian Chaterley Londoño Mejía, María Alejandra Taborda, Josué Rafael Suarez Leonelles, Yineth Dayanna Arrieta Londoño Copyright (c) 2025 Kilian Chaterley Londoño Mejía,María Alejandra Taborda,Josué Rafael Suarez Leonelles,Yineth Dayanna Arrieta Londoño https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/717 Mon, 22 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pedagogical strategy based on centers of interest for improving the school climate in basic secondary education https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/718
This academic article presents the initial findings of an applied research project aimed at implementing a pedagogical strategy that prioritizes students’ interests, with the ultimate goal of fostering improvements in the educational climate within the lower secondary school of the Rogelio Rodríguez Severiche Educational Institution, located in Sincelejo, Sucre. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods research design was employed, facilitating the integration of quantitative and qualitative data gathered through the administration of school climate perception questionnaires using a Likert scale, focus group technique, and reflective qualitative instruments for lower secondary education students. Among the main problems identified were the absence of active pedagogical methodologies, insufficient socioemotional support, and a disconnect between curricular content and students lived experiences. In response to these challenges, a pedagogical strategy based on the interest centers model was meticulously designed and implemented, encompassing activities such as cooperative games, dialogue circles, community projects, and theatrical performances. In conclusion, the research clarifies that the implementation of contextualized strategies, supported by a student-centered framework, can substantially improve the educational climate and promote a more inclusive, empathetic, and democratic culture within the educational environment.
Josué Rafael Suárez Leonelles, Roger Elí Torres Vásquez, Kilian Chaterley Londoño Mejia, Jannet del Carmen Pava Buelvas , Carmelo Miguel Galván Doria, Naffer de Jesús Cortés Julio Copyright (c) 2025 Josué Rafael Suárez Leonelles,Roger Elí Torres Vásquez,Kilian Chaterley Londoño Mejia,Jannet del Carmen Pava Buelvas ,Carmelo Miguel Galván Doria,Naffer de Jesús Cortés Julio https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/718 Mon, 22 Sep 2025 22:40:28 +0000 Agonistic Games and Student Motivation in Higher Education: A Review from the Social Learning Theory https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/719
The purpose of this review article is to synthesize and analyze recent scientific evidence (2019–2025) on the impact of agonistic games, also known as competitive games, on student motivation in higher education. To this end, a systematic search was conducted in academic databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, and MDPI, using keywords in Spanish and English related to gamification, competitive games, intrinsic motivation, and higher education. Inclusion criteria were applied that considered only peer-reviewed articles in Spanish or English, published during the study period, that reported the effects of competition or gaming in university contexts, while gray literature documents and those without empirical results were excluded. The resulting corpus was classified into thematic dimensions such as intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, social interaction, teaching role, academic performance, and research gaps. In general terms, agonistic games are seen as a pedagogical tool with the potential to increase student engagement in higher education, provided their application respects the principles of self-determination theory and social learning theory, fostering autonomy, competence, and positive social interaction. However, significant gaps in the literature are identified: a lack of longitudinal studies measuring the permanence of the motivational effect, a paucity of research in Latin American contexts, and limitations in comparing results across disciplines. It is concluded that future research should focus on experimental designs and long-term follow-up, as well as on regional contextualization, in order to strengthen the validity of the findings and consolidate agonistic games as an innovative strategy for motivation and performance in higher education.
Carlos Alexis Moreno Pedraza, Oscar Antonio Quintero Vagas, Andres Sebastian Gafaro Sierra, Helen Alejandra Robayo, Julio Manuel Maza, Christopher Emmanuel Jaimes Beltran Copyright (c) 2025 Carlos Alexis Moreno Pedraza,Oscar Antonio Quintero Vagas,Andres Sebastian Gafaro Sierra,Helen Alejandra Robayo,Julio Manuel Maza,Christopher Emmanuel Jaimes Beltran https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/719 Mon, 22 Sep 2025 23:06:33 +0000 Agonistic games and student motivation in higher education: a review from the social learning theory https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/720
The purpose of this article is to conduct a systematic review of the literature published in Colombia over the past five years, analyzing the experiences and results of using gamification as a motivational and pedagogical tool in physical education classes. Despite its relevance, there is notable heterogeneity in its conceptualization and measurement, which hinders a unified understanding of its components and its impact on human interactions. The main objective of this research was to systematically analyze interpersonal intelligence, evaluate the validity of common measurement instruments, and determine its relationship with variables such as social success, psychological well-being, and academic performance. To achieve this, a systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. The search was performed in the PsycINFO, PubMed, and Web of Science databases, using a combination of keywords such as "interpersonal intelligence," "social skills," and "empathy." From a total of 1,500 articles, 85 empirical studies were selected for the analysis. The main results of the meta-analysis reveal that interpersonal intelligence is significantly associated with greater satisfaction in interpersonal relationships (d = 0.65) and a lower risk of social adjustment problems (d = -0.48). Furthermore, it was found that self-report instruments tend to overestimate effects compared to observation-based assessments. In conclusion, interpersonal intelligence is a robust predictor of psychosocial functioning. The need to develop more rigorous measurement instruments and to promote research that explores its neural and genetic bases for a deeper understanding is emphasized.
Grey Esther Teherán Torres Copyright (c) 2025 Grey Esther Teherán Torres https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/721 Mon, 22 Sep 2025 23:37:35 +0000 Systematic analysis of verbal intelligence https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/722
This study conducts a systematic analysis of verbal intelligence, conceived as a dynamic and multifactorial construct essential for cognitive, social, and emotional development in childhood and adolescence. Based on a comprehensive review of scientific databases, primarily Scopus and Google Scholar, 19,701 documents were identified. After applying filters based on time, subject area, open access, and language, 112 relevant articles published between 2015 and 2025 were selected. The methodological approach adopted a socio-critical paradigm, with a qualitative and ethnographic design, supported by theoretical (document review, analysis-synthesis) and empirical (content analysis, triangulation, and modeling) methods. The results show sustained growth in scientific production since the mid-20th century, reaching its peak around 2016–2017, with a marked concentration in English-speaking countries (the US and the UK). The biomedical disciplines of medicine, psychology, and neuroscience dominate the field, although significant contributions emerge from pedagogy and the arts. The influence of family, environmental, and pedagogical factors, as well as innovative strategies such as music, symbolic play, and storytelling, in strengthening vocabulary, comprehension, and verbal fluency, is highlighted. The analysis concludes that, although research on verbal intelligence has advanced considerably, gaps persist in Latin American contexts and in situated pedagogical approaches. Therefore, there is a need to articulate interdisciplinary perspectives that integrate neuroscience, education, and social sciences, in order to promote inclusive and humanized practices that enhance communication skills from an early age.
Oscar Eduardo Hernández Ortega , Josué Rafael Suárez Leonelles Copyright (c) 2025 Oscar Eduardo Hernández Ortega ,Josué Rafael Suárez Leonelles https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/722 Mon, 22 Sep 2025 23:49:24 +0000 Neurodiversity in the Classroom: A Qualitative Study on Teacher Perceptions and Their Impact on Pedagogical Practice https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/723
This article presents the results of a doctoral qualitative study, framed within the interpretative paradigm, aimed at analyzing the relationship between teachers’ perceptions of neurodiversity and their impact on pedagogical practices and curricular adaptations in public schools in Guacarí, Colombia. Semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and classroom observations were conducted to identify how educators’ interpretative frameworks shape the inclusion of neurodivergent students. The findings reveal a central tension: although teachers show willingness to apply neurodidactic strategies, these are implemented in a fragmented and intuitive manner, limited by insufficient specialized training, weak institutional support, and the persistence of medicalized perspectives on neurodivergence. Thematic analysis indicated that the most innovative practices emerge when teachers recognize neurodiversity as a legitimate expression of human plurality rather than as a deficit. In response, a theoretical framework was developed that integrates neurodiversity, neurodidactics, and inclusion understood as cognitive justice, with the aim of transforming pedagogical conceptions and institutional culture. It is concluded that teacher training must go beyond a merely instrumental approach and move toward an epistemic horizon that enables the questioning of structures, the removal of barriers, and the consolidation of a multiscalar inclusive model. This article offers a conceptual and applied framework with the potential to influence teacher education, educational practice, and inclusive policy in the Latin American context.
Mayra Lorena Moreno Copyright (c) 2025 Mayra Lorena Moreno https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/723 Tue, 23 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Phonological awareness in children's reading: a systematic review https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/724
This study aimed to analyze the impact of phonological awareness on the reading development of children in early education. To carry out this review, research published between 2018 and the current year 2025 was collected and examined in different databases, mostly Scopus, which allowed us to identify recent theoretical aspects on this topic. The findings reveal that phonological awareness is considered a very important metalinguistic skill, key to the acquisition of reading, as it facilitates the correspondence between phonemes and graphemes, in addition to enhancing fluency and reading comprehension in the early grades. It was also evident that factors such as family environment, socioeconomic status, systematic instruction in phonetics and vocabulary, and the use of educational technologies have a significant impact on strengthening this metalinguistic skill. They also highlight the need to train teachers in strategies to stimulate phonological awareness, especially in contexts of social and educational vulnerability. Even so, there is a knowledge gap in the literature reviewed, as it does not consider the challenges faced by teachers in teaching reading in multigrade classrooms in rural areas of Colombia, where several grades share the same learning space; there, the sociocultural interaction of language plays an important role.
Nelvis Nohemy Ochoa Lozano, Karina Paola Pineda Balmaceda, Eliana Judith Narváez Hernández, Natalia Ortega Berrio Copyright (c) 2025 Nelvis Nohemy Ochoa Lozano,Karina Paola Pineda Balmaceda,Eliana Judith Narváez Hernández Eliana Judith Narváez Hernández,Natalia Ortega Berrio https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/724 Wed, 24 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Systemic analysis of the aesthetic dimension in education https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/725
The aesthetic dimension in education is a field of study that seeks to understand how sensitivity, creativity, and the appreciation of beauty influence learning and the student’s holistic development. Contemporary classrooms, which are naturally heterogeneous, include students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, giftedness, and diverse forms of cognitive and sensory processing. This scenario requires educational systems to move beyond deficit-based approaches and adopt models that recognize neurological diversity as a strength. This study, based on a review of recent literature, identifies theories, conceptual categories, and findings from international research that address neurodiversity from multiple perspectives: teacher adaptation and the use of flexible strategies such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL), the implementation of Individual Reasonable Accommodation Plans (IRAP), the importance of psychoeducation, and the creation of more inclusive learning environments. The findings show that the transformation of pedagogical practice largely depends on teacher training and the articulation between educational policy, research, and classroom practice. Furthermore, the study highlights that neurodiversity should not be understood as an obstacle but as an opportunity to enrich teaching and learning processes, to strengthen democratic school communities, and to promote social justice. In conclusion, this study proposes a comprehensive analytical framework that makes it possible to understand neurodiversity as a constitutive condition of education, while providing guidelines for the continuous improvement of equity and educational quality.
Natalia Andrea Ortega Berrio, Mara Suarez Martínez , Nelvis Ochoa Lozano, Karina Pineda Balmaceda Copyright (c) 2025 Natalia Andrea Ortega Berrio,Mara Suarez Martínez ,Nelvis Ochoa Lozano,Karina Pineda Balmaceda https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/729 Sun, 28 Sep 2025 13:25:49 +0000 Strategy for Reading and Writing https://revista.redgade.com/index.php/Gade/article/view/730
The teaching of literacy has presented difficulties that are particularly evident at the Santa Fe Ralito Educational Institution, Nuevo Paraíso campus. In this educational context, students present difficulties such as syllabic reading, lack of reading fluency, limited text comprehension, incomplete spelling, and omission of phonemes. These problems are not limited solely to the Spanish Language area, but transcend into all subjects, generating a widespread academic impact. Furthermore, the situation is complicated by contextual factors that include the rural public nature of the institution, families from low socioeconomic strata, and a community where one in three inhabitants is registered as a victim of the armed conflict. Consequently, these local results reflect a worrying regional trend that, according to the ERCE (2019), shows how reading skills progressively decline as students advance academically.
