Abstract

Motor development is a fundamental process in the life of human beings, since through it we acquire motor skills that allow us to interact with the environment efficiently. As Lipton (2018) mentions, "motor development encompasses a series of progressive changes in the ability to control and coordinate body movements throughout life" (p. 12). During this process, individuals experience various stages of development, from involuntary movements in the first months of life to the acquisition of more complex motor skills in childhood and adolescence. Motor development is a complex and multidimensional process that involves the acquisition and refinement of motor skills throughout life. From early childhood to adulthood, motor development plays a crucial role in the overall development of individuals. The study, understanding and application of motor development are essential to understand how the human being develops in its entirety and integrality, and how these motor skills influence its growth and integral development.
