The book of school and community life, a methodological teaching tool for students of indigenous education in Oaxaca.
Abstract
The purpose of this education article is to present the work that the collective of teachers of the indigenous education level have done historically in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, specifically in the region of the Mixteca Alta in the District of Nochixtlán, for approximately 20 years, in order to build and consolidate a curriculum proposal based on the Community Principles.
In this text we will only focus on the Book of School and Community Life as a methodological didactic tool that helps the anecdotal record of progress in the teaching-learning process of Basic Education students in the Indigenous Education subsystem as elements of a qualitative evaluation but that also responds to the official accreditation. Because the methodological process includes elements of the family, school, community and classroom environment, in its initial, procedural and final assessment phases.
This action has been able to bring us closer to the families, to understand the personal situation of our students, to evaluate the strengths and needs of each one, to attend to psycho-pedagogical needs without prejudice, thus improving attention and school performance.
We understand that given the current health situation it is not possible to continue working ordinarily with this didactic tool. Therefore, an adjustment is made so that the records are made by the parents or guardians of the students, and the systematization of the information is done by the teachers until returning to normal life.
