Society in times of confinement: reality and challenges of the mexican education system
Abstract
This research shows the hard reality that socially lives worldwide and specifically in Mexico as a result of the confinement caused by COVID-19 that brought about the change in the way of life, causing social and economic instability, collapsing the health system and, particularly, the educational system, which is the case of this research.
Undoubtedly it is a very discouraging and unprecedented scenario, which is why the objective of it is to analyze the reality of the Mexican education system and its main challenges based on the measures promoted by the Secretary of Public Education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fulfillment of this objective will allow to face the physical loss of the school space and the closure of classrooms; taking into consideration the consequences of this new modality of distance classes.
The relevance of the problem shows the weaknesses and limitations that hinder the proper development of school processes, as a result of the little investment allocated to this area; In addition, the strategy implemented by the educational authorities did not take into account the reality of teachers, students, parents, the above requires economic resources, to know how to properly use ICT, a situation for which many teachers have made use of the resources available to them.
