Abstract

This study is justified by the need to improve defensive positioning in youth soccer, specifically at Atuneros FC, where deficiencies in players' tactical and physical preparation are evident. The main objective focuses on the design of a strategy based on specific exercises aimed at perfecting young soccer players' defensive positioning. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach under the participatory action research (PAR) model, utilizing techniques such as observation, interviews with coaches, and consultation with specialists, in addition to documentary review. The sample was intentionally composed of 15 youth players, representing 37.5% of the population. Data analysis identified deficiencies in physical preparation, marking, anticipation, and tactical structure during set pieces and counterattacks. Key findings included poor defensive response capacity, tactical disorganization, and lack of concentration. A proposed strategy was designed, divided into three groups of exercises: coordination and agility, anticipation, and development of conditional physical abilities. These exercises were planned progressively and adapted to the players' level and context. It is concluded that the implementation of this strategy contributes to improving the youth team's defensive performance, and its systematic incorporation into training is recommended.
