Prevention strategies for sedentary lifestyle in sixth grade students at the Aguas Negras educational institution
Abstract
Sedentary behavior, defined by the World Health Organization as insufficient physical activity and increased sedentary habits, directly impacts students’ health and overall well-being. This work aims to design and implement interactive and inclusive strategies to promote physical activity and counteract sedentary habits among sixth-grade students at the Aguas Negras Educational Institution, using a quantitative and descriptive approach, surveys and unstructured interviews were conducted to analyze students’ perceptions and habits regarding physical activity. The implemented strategies included group dynamics, motor games, and activities designed to encourage active participation among all students, ensuring inclusivity, The results demonstrated a positive impact, highlighting improvements in motivation for physical activity, the adoption of healthier habits, and the strengthening of students’ physical and emotional well-being. This study emphasizes the importance of adopting innovative educational approaches tailored to the needs of young people, significantly contributing to their comprehensive development.
