Innovative strategies and benefits in soccer refereeing
Abstract
At the Central University of Ecuador, a lack of research on arbitration in football has been identified, making this work the first contribution from the Faculty of Physical Culture on this topic, focusing on innovative strategies. The main objective is to identify these strategies that optimize refereeing performance in football, using the PRISMA methodology (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) to structure the article through systematic reviews and data analysis. For theoretical systematization, academic search engines such as Latindex, Redalyc, Dialnet, Scielo, PubMed, Complete (EBSCO), and Web of Science were employed, as well as Google Scholar and digital repositories. The sample of documents was filtered by applying inclusion and exclusion criteria that considered timeliness, thematic relevance, and scientific validity, eliminating articles that did not meet these criteria, as well as duplicates and those not indexed in reliable databases. It was found that the results on optimizing refereeing through innovative strategies improve the accuracy of refereeing decisions, reducing controversies in critical situations, which will benefit football players by ensuring a fairer game and facilitate the referee's work, increasing their confidence and effectiveness, thus promoting a more balanced competitive environment and raising the quality of sporting events.
