Abstract

The analysis of basic motor skills in educational institutions is crucial to understanding children's motor development and designing effective educational programs. This study examined the relationship between the quality of basic motor skills and academic performance in elementary school students. A combination of standardized tests and observations were used to assess skills such as running, jumping, throwing and catching. The results indicated a strong correlation between greater mastery of basic motor skills and better academic performance. Additionally, significant differences in motor development were identified between different age groups and gender, highlighting the importance of addressing these disparities in the school curriculum. These findings suggest that integrating motor development programs into the school environment can have a positive impact on both academic performance and overall health of students. Implications for curricular planning are discussed and recommendations for future research in this field are highlighted, with the aim of improving the quality of physical education and the general well-being of students in educational institutions.
