Designing pre-sports games adapted to the English language for the development of motor skills in 4th-grade students at Lorenzo Maria Lleras Institution “INEM”

Abstract

This research, titled "Designing Pre-Sport Games Adapted to the English Language for the Development of Motor Skills in Fourth Grade Students at Lorenzo María Lleras 'INEM' Educational Institution," aims to design various activities for the development of physical capacities and indirectly provide basic experiences related to the English language. The specific objectives focus directly on the creation of these pre-sport games, as well as on the modification of existing pre-sport games. During the development of this project, surveys and interviews were conducted to obtain valuable data and more effective information on the subject. In these surveys, two important aspects were identified: basic motor skills and English as an indirect learning experience. The results showed that 80% of the students believe that the proposed activities would improve their basic motor skills, and 75% believe they would improve their basic English learning. Therefore, the research highlights the significant role that pre-sport games play in physical education as a teaching method and, more specifically, as a transversalization method. These games not only develop physical and cognitive areas but also integral development areas. They provide students with an inclusive space where they can be themselves and participate regardless of their abilities or conditions.
