Recreational strategies to promote the practicsecue of physical activity in 11th grade schoolchildren at the INEM Montería Educational Institution
Abstract
This article addresses the implementation of recreational strategies to promote physical activity among 11th grade students at the INEM Montería Educational Institution. The research is based on the premise that regular physical activity is essential for the comprehensive development of young people, contributing not only to their physical health, but also to their emotional and social well-being. An initial diagnosis was carried out that revealed low levels of participation in physical activities among students, which motivated the design of a recreational program adapted to their interests and needs. The strategies used included the organization of sports tournaments, dance workshops, and outdoor activities, promoting inclusion and teamwork. Surveys and interviews were carried out to assess students' perception of these activities, as well as their impact on motivation and commitment to the practice of physical activity. The results showed a significant increase in student participation and an improvement in attitudes towards exercise, evidencing that recreational strategies are effective in encouraging physical activity in this age group. This study highlights the importance of integrating recreational approaches into the school curriculum, not only to improve physical health, but also to strengthen social skills and a sense of community among students.
