Microenterprises and their implementation in new technologies in Quevedo restaurants

Abstract

Microenterprises in the gastronomic sector represent a fundamental pillar in local economic development due to their contribution to employment generation and commercial dynamism. However, their growth and sustainability largely depend on the level of adoption of technological management tools. The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of new technologies on the administrative, financial, and commercial performance of restaurant microenterprises in Quevedo canton. The study followed a quantitative approach with a non-experimental and descriptive-correlational design. The population consisted of 1,695 microenterprises registered in the Internal Revenue Service under code CIIU I561, obtaining a sample of 166 establishments through probabilistic sampling. Data collection was carried out through structured surveys with a Likert-type scale, whose reliability was validated using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The results showed medium levels of technological adoption and limitations in administrative and financial management, affecting organizational performance. It is concluded that the incorporation of technological tools is a key factor in improving competitiveness and sustainability in gastronomic microenterprises.
